Bear Hoot Has Arrived!
Hooray! After 7 months of working on an album, it feels nice to finally have it delivered. It sounds really awesome, so you should check it out! Doug's screaming guitar harmony solo on "Renewable Vermont Hippie Dream" made me weep. Erin's sharp vocals and solid rhythm guitar are nothing to mess with either.. neither are Ben's tight drum beats. My bass and back-up harmonies are pretty rockin' too, but I feel like I just try to keep up with these incredible musicians most of the time!
If you won't be able to make it to the CD release party on December 6th, let us know if you'd like to buy a copy of your own. Otherwise, we'll be selling them at the party and various local retail locations after that date.
More info to come about the release party at a later date, but don't miss Mr. Jay Ekis' very own CD release party for his new album "Touched By War" on Thursday, November 20th, at the Black Door in Montpelier at 7pm! We'll be there too!

Do Bears Hoot?
We often ponder the question of bears hooting. Erin swears she heard one the other night and many Vermonters adamantly insist that yes, bears do hoot. There exists no scientific evidence to back this claim. If you can provide evidence, please do so.
There is one Bear Hoot that you can have for a mere $10.. our debut album! CDs should be in next week, if you want to contact us and get one early.
Or you can come out to our CD release party, which is gearing up to be one of the most epic events Montpelier has ever seen. We have a penchant for oddball antics and we're pulling out all the stops for our CD release party.. we're talking fire-spinning, a bubble machine, crazy cover songs, surprise musical guests, and whatever else we can come up with between now and then.
The date is December 6th at the Black Door in Montpelier, one of our very favorite places to play. So, come out and party with us. We've worked hard on our album and you'll finally have the chance to buy it! Come celebrate the fact that it's finally finished!! I'm sure I'll pester you more before then!

October Update
Many folks have recently asked me when our next show is.. good to know that people are interested! Our next show is on October 22nd, a Wednesday, at our favorite free-form radio station, WGDR 91.1-FM.
Once again, we'll be performing during Patti Garbeck's wonderful show New Folk Revival during the station's week-long, bi-annual pledge drive.
Please tune in between the hours of 7:30 and 9:30pm EST and maybe even pledge a few bucks to keep these kinds of opportunities alive for local musicians and volunteer radio programmers. You can even hear a live stream of this show online at the given time, at
www.wgdr.org.
And if you find yourself bored at home on a Wednesday evening thinking "Wow, how could my evening be more fun?" Head over to the studio and rock out with us!
In album news, it's on its way to get mastered by Mr. Bennett Shapiro, VT soundman extraordinaire. The official CD release party is scheduled for December 6th, at the Black Door in Montpelier. We're really excited about all the work we've put into the album and hope you'll enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it!

Claire's in Hardwick, this Thursday!
We had a blast playing at Charlie O's! Much thanks to everyone who came out, partied with us, danced to our music, and had a grand old time! What other band would play the main theme to the Never Ending Story during their set break? Surprises are always in store.
That being said, SURPRISE!
We're playing at Claire's Restaurant and Bar in Hardwick this Thursday evening, especially as a heads-up to all you Hardwick, Woodbury, Morrisville, and Cabot folks. Claire's has been getting a lot of great acts in to perform, so we're excited to play there as well. I haven't been yet, but I've heard great things about the food!
Also, plan your weekend around Saturday night, September 20th, when we'll return to the Black Door in Montpelier, another one of our favorite places to play. Jay, one of the top bartenders in Montpelier, will be tending while we rock your socks off. Don't worry. We'll clear out the tables so you can dance.
Even more news -- the great bluegrass group Hot Buttered Rum will perform at Higher Ground in Burlington on November 13th. And we'll be opening for them! We're really excited about our HG debut and hope that you are too.. and that you'll come out to support great live music!
Hopefully, our debut album will be done by then (and you'll buy it). If the rough mixes I got a couple weeks back are any indication, this one's a rocker!

Charlie O's Tonight!
Ahh, the time has come.
Tonight is the first night of a three-day weekend (for most), so you've really got no excuses as to why you can't be at Charlie O's tonight. I've heard about a few weddings happening this weekend, but that just means you should bring the whole wedding party down to O's for last call. We love wedding parties.
Yes, the ham may emerge from the basement tonight.
Yes, our music is quite danceable.
Yes, we will go off on some freak jams and yes, I will sing.
Which reminds me that I need to go get a mic stand from Guitar Sam. I'm going to ask for the "broke working musician who still has a day job" discount. Maybe they'll give it to me.
SEE YOU TONIGHT AT CHARLIE O'S.
9:30 - 1:30.
Be there or be square!
